 Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember ... My Great Grandmother, Grandma Esther, encouraged us to make marks on her canvases when we were young and she would, in turn, paint beautifu7l flowers on the other side. I have those paintings hanging in my house now as a reminder to keep creativity close and make those marks!!

I am also drawn to nature and what we can learn from it. As Lao Tzu says, "Nature never hurries, yet everything is accomplished."  In a society of "Go! Go! Go!"  I have been more deliberate with how I choose to spend my time.  The justle and bustle might be fun for a bit, but it is NOT sustainable. Rest, relaxation, and nourishment have become an important part of my weeks and I have noticed the benefits in many ways. People tell me "You are so positive, how do you do it?"
 or they come to me for a good squeeze. Often I find myself in amazing conversations because I was not rushing off to the next thing I had to do. Presence in the moment, gratitude, and love are my guides now.

We can Learn a Lot of Things From the Flowers is a step into being more deliberate with my own art.  As an art teacher, I create for others ALL THE TIME. Finding my own art again has been a huge blessing and it reminds me that it is within the process that is my happy place.  I am at peace in my process. Time fades away. And in the end, whether it is complete or not, I feel loved, I feel seen, and I look forward to my next creative session.

Spring Obsession Art Show is a juried exhibit with judges panels voting acceptance into the show via the images you submit with your entry.  Theme Division prize is $500.  Open Division 1st. prize is $1000.  2nd. prize $500. 3rd prize $250.

Show time line is below:

·       January 20^th Fri. 3:00 pm OPEN & THEME entries due.

·       Jan. 23-25, Mon. – Wed. accepted THEME notice’s emailed to artists

·       Jan. 30 – Feb 3, Mon. – Fri. accepted OPEN notice’s emailed to artists

·       Feb. 10, Fri. 3:00 PM accepted THEME Shipped paintings due

·       Feb. 11 & 12, Sat. & Sun. 11 – 3 pm Receiving THEME originals 

·       Feb. 24. Fri. 3:00 pm Shipped accepted OPEN originals due on site

·       Feb. 25 & 26, Sat. & Sun. 11 – 3 Receiving original accepted OPEN division paintings

Spring Obsession Art Show 2023

 Yes!  It is that time of year again!  Ironstone Vineyards is proud to announce the 26th Annual Spring Obsession Art Show will be accepting entries as soon as October 2022.  

Entry is open to all artists new and professional. This exhibit is a live on site exhibit which will be located at Ironstone Vineyards here in Murphys, California.  This is a juried exhibit with entries judged by the images provided either through the online entry forms or mailed in entries with images on CD, DVD or USB Drive. This exhibit is limited to original works by the artist submitting not having been exhibited at Ironstone Vineyards previously.  This show is not accepting photography or digitally created or enhanced images at this time. Works may not exceed a total of 84" height width combined, 5" depth and 40 lbs. 

After jury selection, artists with accepted works will be notified via email address provided on entry forms.  There will be approximately 2 - 3 weeks to prepare accepted works for hand delivery at prescribed date or shipped to arrive by prescribed date.  Dates will be posted on entry forms and in acceptance emails.

Accepted works must be suitably framed, wired and ready to hang. Works with sawtooth hangers will be rejected. Unframed gallery stretched canvas must be finished/painted on sides. Wet paintings will be rejected.  

There are two divisions in the Spring Obsession Art Show...

Entry deadlines will be posted as soon as the prospectus/entry forms are available here and at 

www.ironstonevineyards.com  sometime after October 1st. 2022.

THEME Division = Artist interpretation of theme  "An Obsession with Daffodils". 

There will be one winner in the Theme Division selected by the Kautz Family. Prize is $500. Theme Division winner will be published as the Series 26 Obsession poster in an 18x24 format with artist name prominently located.

OPEN Division = any subject matter, any media (no photography or digitally created or enhanced images)

Judging will be conducted by qualified judges (TBA) from original accepted paintings. 

1st. Prize $1000

2nd Prize $500

3rd Prize $250

Wine & Art Festival

 Join us Saturday & Sunday, June 11 & 12 as we celebrate the closing of Ironstone's 25th annual Spring Obsession Art Show with the Ironstone Wine & Art Festival coordinated by PacificFineArts.com.

The Wine & Art Festival will be held outdoors in Ironstone Vineyard's Amphitheatre while the 25th Annual Spring Art Show is on exhibit in the main building downstairs from the Tasting Room.  All works are for sale. That exhibit is available for viewing Thursday through Sunday at no charge. We recommend you call ahead. The main room may be closed for a private event, however the Galleria section will always be open at the bottom of the staircase from the Tasting Room.  11 - 5.
