I began my formal training at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota, followed by studying at The Minneapolis School of Art and Design. I moved to Texas in 1986, where I had both a studio and gallery on the River Walk in San Antonio. With a desire to further my formal training, I ventured to Philadelphia t0 study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. I also studied with many fine artists in workshops across the nation. NowI'm back living in my home state of Minnesota where I have enjoyed many years of teaching at the Savage Art Studios, in Savage, Minnesota both watercolor and oil classes and an occasional workshop entitled "Painting the Floral Still Life--Loose and Lively"
As of 2020, I retired from teaching but I keep painting.
