"Skeleton Oak" is a remnant of the Rim Fire, a stark shell of an oak against a stormy sky caught her attention while working in the burn scar. "Sunny at Spicer" was painted mostly on site at Spicer Reservoir, the small juniper growing out of a slab of granite is a story of survival against all odds in against a stunningly beautiful world full of life and growth.

Holly has been painting since she was a child and got her start in watercolor classes with local artist Martha Wallace. Since then drawing and painting has always been a hobby, and in the past years she has been working to produce more developed pieces and share them with the public. Currently she is working primarily with acrylics toward a goal of photorealism, in the interest of capturing not only the image but the quintessence of a scene.
A person of diverse interests, Holly appears on occasion in local plays with Murphys Creek Theater and Shakespeare on the vine as well as performing and teaching clowning with the Sierra Circus. She also plays music and has a deep love for the outdoors and a wide array of other arts and creative endeavors. Holly lives with her husband and their cat outside downtown Murphys, where they fill their home with art and music.
